One of Japan's only foreign-run microbreweries, the MABC nestles in the beautiful mountains of Minami Aizu, and produces a variety of beers, such as True Blue Pale Ale. If you're in the area, you can get a tour of the brewery - be sure to let John know you're coming first! For keen beer drinkers, there is the Fickle Quaffers Society, a mail-order beer club that ensures a fresh supply on your doorstep every month, plus special brews unique to club members.

The Fiddler is a British pub in Takadanobaba (Tokyo) which also serves traditional food such as Shepherd's Pie and Baked Beans on Toast (that's two separate dishes!)They also have live music most nights; a complete schedule is available on the site.
